Stepping out loud on Gays.com

December 28th, 2007 2 Comments Features

Here at Gays.com, we think that gay Internet has come of age, and it’s about time it came out of the closet. Looking around us, we don’t see any gay portal that actually encourages users to step out with their real names and their real identities, so we thought we’d be the first to do so. In so doing, we want to foster an environment of genuineness and authenticity and to create a space on the Internet into which you can extend your friendships and to share your life with the people around you.

Having said that, we’re mindful of the fact that many of you work in jobs or countries where you are still unable to come out yet. Well, rest assured a whole range of privacy options will be set in place. You will be able to choose if your profile is only viewable by friends or completely out there on the Internet. The only restriction, of course, will be on fake names and celebrity names. (Well now, how many of you out there are named Elton John or Ellen Degeneres?)

If you’ve got any questions or suggestions, why not leave us a comment here?
