Gay couples swarm LDS temple in Salt Lake City for a kiss-in

July 15th, 2009

We love this. A few days ago, a gay couple was detained by security guards working for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (otherwise known as the Mormon church) after an otherwise innocent kiss on the cheek, and then charged for trespassing (!!!). The result? Gay and lesbian couples in Utah decided to swarm the square outside the Mormon temple and hold this kiss-in. It’s great to see LDS spokeswoman Kim Farah sucking it up towards the end of the clip. She had earlier lied to the media that the couple was “asked to stop engaging in inappropriate behavior just as any other couple would have been”.
