Here at Gays.com headquarters, we get loads of emails on a daily basis. Some people write in to complain about features that are not working, others write in to commend us for a job well done, and then there are still a few crazies who write in to tell us we should all be straight and shut down the whole site. Here’s a classic case:
We’ve learnt from experience it’s best not to spend too much time arguing with people who are able to do nothing than hammer us with the Bible, but here are two things we’d like to tell our friend here:
- We don’t know what Bible you read, but the Bible we read also tells us that God hates pigs, shrimps and everything else that swims in the sea (Read the notes for Leviticus 11: 5-7, 9-12) .If you’re a pork or seafood eater, please stop. It’s an abomination to the Lord.

Well done, guys! It is better not to get into arguments with these “religious” people. Ignorance only can be fought with education..and there is nothing worse than people who don’t want to be educated. We gay people are better off spending time accepting and loving ourselves as we are, just as we were created: beloved, light-filled expressions of the Spirit. With grateful hearts, we embrace the qualities God gave us, the special skills and talents that shape our unique experience in life. By honoring gifts like imagination, creativity, and leadership, we honor God.
As my unbounded true self, I am living the life God gave me to live and loving and CELEBRATING every minute of it.
This is the best we can do….and avoid at all cost the toxic and poisonous rhetoric of the so called “Christians” of this world.

So I happen to live with two spiritual parents and was raised Catholic… Uhm… The Romans chapter does NOT say anything about homosexuality… If this person was talking about Romans 1:18-21 which is talking about ALL sinners not just homosexuals. Romans 1:26-27 does refer to homosexuality but the entire chapter is not about homosexuality.
And, to top it off, I had such a hard time reading over all the grammatical and spelling errors, I could barely understand the intention of the email. I have no issue with anyone of spiritual belief but, seriously, know the right Scripture quotes if you are going to throw them around. I’d ruin this person’s pride and ego with their knowledge of homosexuality references in the Bible in any debate, any day. Pathetic. We all have our own beliefs so don’t try to cram your’s down anyone else’s throat.

what the hell is confuss? last time i checked it was confuse… and god created “man” is gods image. meaning all humans. so god created every heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual (which is what i am), and transsexual in his/her image…so shut the fuck up. sorry if i forgot any orientations

There’s a reason that we have freedom of religion as a basic right.
YOUR God may not like homosexuals but MY religious choices aren’t yours. So keep God out of my pants please because I’m free to beleive whatever I want.

You are right; God made a man [Adam] and a woman [Eve] and that’s why we’re here today. I totally agree. Now think about this: God made male and female of every kind including humankind and He had done so for the purpose of procreation. That’s why we’re here. At first, Adam was alone and according to Gen 2:20 [NKJV – study bible], “for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him”. So, God made Eve; flesh from Adam’s flesh and bones from his bones. A woman; a human that is comparable to him and because God said that they were to procreate, He [God] created both male and female in such an awesome way that we can have children. I believe that the purpose Moses wrote the book and shared the creation story was not specifically because of male and female, but to tell of God’s awesome power and how He [God] created.
And yes, God does love us.. He loves ALL of us and He sacrificed for ALL of us. I have not read any exceptions to His sacrifice. John 3:16 says “whosoever believes”….. I didn’t see where it says “except for…” Jesus said “whosoever believes”. Paul also teaches in Galatians 3:16 that there are NO differences, no discriminations. If we are in Christ, then we are heirs according to the promise. Read it. Again, it doesn’t say “if you are in Christ [except for …].
I am a Christian first and foremost and I am proud to be His. I am also a lesbian and I am, and forever will be, His. When scripture is studied in its original context, you will find that not even Christ himself had anything to say about being lgbt.
